Washington Head Coach Accepts Blame for Keeping Daniels in Game Before Significant Injury

The Commanders leader Dan Quinn has stated he shares some the blame for a major injury to the team’s quarterback, Jayden Daniels.

Particulars of the Harm and Situation

Jayden Daniels, who enjoyed among the best first-year performances of all time the previous year, suffered a displaced elbow joint in the Sunday loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Even though Daniels throws with his right arm, the issue has placed his season in doubt. The injury was significant enough that the television broadcast avoided showing replays and several athletes looked away as Daniels was attended to by team doctors.

Criticism and Leader’s Reaction

Quinn came under criticism as many felt Daniels should not have been on the playing surface in the first place. The injury happened in the fourth quarter with the Washington behind 38-7, making a recovery unlikely. It is typical in these circumstances for teams to insert their backup quarterback to prevent harm to their first-string player.

“I understand. I’ve been thinking about it nonstop, too, and, man, I missed it,” Quinn said of his choice to leave Jayden in the game. “This is 100% my fault.”

Fallout and Squad Prospects

Mariota will be the Commanders’ starting quarterback going forward, but he will guide a team in disarray. After reaching the conference title game last season behind the rookie’s excellence, the team have faced difficulties currently. They also saw injuries to defensive back Marshon Lattimore (ACL tear) and wide receiver McCaffrey (broken collarbone) on Sunday, and have a number of other starters on injured reserve. The Washington squad are 3-6 so far, and it would require a huge turnaround for the club to make the playoffs.
